We were in the area and wanted to try out a new place, so we headed to Young Wild Free Café. The décor of the place was very trendy. They also had an eclectic mix of seating options- from hanging chairs to low sofas. We first headed towards the swinging chairs, but the seats on the chairs were dirty and were also stinking, so we had to move to the regular wooden chairs.
We placed an order for a Mint Mojito and a Fresh Lime Soda along with our food. We specifically mentioned that the fresh lime soda should be given without ice. However, when the two drinks arrived on the table, the fresh lime soda did have ice. When we pointed out the same, it was swiftly replaced. Taste-wise, both the drinks were just decent.
We still kept our hopes up, expecting the food to be much better, but unfortunately it all went downhill from there. After we were made to wait for our food order for around 45 minutes, the manager came up to us and informed us that they are facing some technical issues with their stove and the only thing they could provide us with were pizzas. Though we were in no mood for pizzas, upon insistence from the manager, who genuinely felt extremely apologetic about the whole episode, we decided to go for it. We were served a Butter Chicken Pizza, which was quite nice. The pizza base was thin and crisp and the topping did smell and taste exactly like butter chicken, but it could have probably done with a touch more spice.
After this, the manager also sent us a complimentary Chocolate Walnut Brownie with Vanilla Ice-cream, which was unfortunately below average in taste. The brownie was quite hard and dry.
We understand that these kind of glitches can happen in any kitchen, and the manager did try his best to handle the situation. However, the taste of the items we did have was just about average and the place definitely does need to be cleaner. So overall, our experience this time around was very good.
