With a long weekend coming up, I’m sure a few of you must be heading out of town. But those of you who, like me, are in the city should not worry as we have a brilliant gastronomic experience lined up for us from 3rd to 5th April– The Grub Fest.
The Grub Fest is an exclusive 3 days gourmet affair with food markets, gourmet pop ups, cookery workshops, food and wine tasting, contests- so basically its a rocking carnival, taking place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. And it’s not just about food; there will be live entertainment such as musical performances by Hari and Sukhmani, Cyanide, Rishabh Joshi and DJ Sartek and the highlight- a special performance by actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das. And the cherry on top? No parking hassles, as they have valet!
Fashioned on the lines of international food festivals, The Grub Fest is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Aman Kumar, Arjun Jain, Chaitanya Mathur and Mani Singh Cheema, who are passionate foodies and want to showcase the very best of India’s food flavours by means of a festival.
Participating restaurants include those like Royal China, United Coffee House, Smokey’s, Fio, Town Hall, Khan Chacha, Switch, NYC Pie, Kathi’s and Shiv Sagar, and even yet to open restaurants like Switch! You can also purchase products ranging from organically produced vegetables to home made jams, gluten free cakes and biscuits at the specially curated farmers’ market.
So mark your calendars people, and stay tuned to this blog for updates on my visit, which will most likely be on the 3rd, as I won’t be able to wait any longer!
